Itinerary:
Day One
Arrive at Alice Spring Airport. Take a shuttle to your hotel. Check in at the hotel. Hotel is Aurora Alice Spring or similar alternates. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day Two - incl. Guided Mala and Mutitjuli Walk, Walpa Gorge Walk and Air Conditioned Vehicle
An Alice Wanderer Centre sightseeing coachwill pick you up from your hotel to commence a one-day Uluru / Kata Tjuta - Ayers Rock tour. Travel from Alice Springs south through the magnificent West MacDonnell Ranges. Stop along the way for a light breakfast.
You then travel to Atila (Mt Conner) lookout for morning tea then onto Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (Olgas) National Park. Join a base tour of Uluru and guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole where you can view Aboriginal rock paintings. Visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and learn more about Tjukurpa (law of the Anangu people).
Visit Kata Tjuta, where you can take a walk between the massive domes at Walpa Gorge. Travel back to Uluru sunset viewing area to witness the changing colours of Uluru while sipping wine or juice with a sunset dinner and light refreshments.
After the sunset settles in - watch the onboard movie and enjoy the return journey to your Alice Springs accommodation. Tour concludes at approximately 12.30am, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.
Day Three
Sleep in after the long day yesterday. Feel free to explore Alice Springs in the afternoon.
Alice Springs in the Red Centre is the second biggest town in the Northern Territory, after the capital, Darwin. The original Alice Spring, the permanent waterhole that became the key terminal for the Overland Telegraph Station in 1870, is still running, but the city that has grown around the well is now the vibrant hub of Central Australia.
The city is the point from which the intrepid strike south for the Simpson Desert and east to the ghost towns of the MacDonnell Ranges, from which the fossickers head north for the gemfields, and from which tens of thousands of tourists bus or fly west to Australia's best known icon, Uluru.
It's a city where visitors not only come to prepare for sorties into the unique bush, but to absorb the singular ambience. The Alice is also a major outlet for Aboroginal art, and contemporary paintings are exhibited in a number of galleries in the city.
Day Four
Check out from hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
