Itinerary:
Day One - Fly to Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi and depending on your time of arrival the rest of the day is yours to soak up the local culture
Day Two - Hanoi Street Food (B, L or D)
Their guide will pick you up at the hotel to enjoy a Hanoi Street Food Tour for three hours. They always highly recommend that you do this option to bring you into the world of Vietnamese cuisine. Stay overnight in Hanoi.
Day Three - Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Their guide and shuttle bus will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel and start the journey east to Halong Bay, through picturesque rice-farming villages of the Red River Delta, where you see every day Vietnamese village life. On arrival, board a beautiful traditional junk and spend a full day and night cruising the bat's 3000 magnificent limestone islets. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, you will enjoy a wonderful seafood meal and later there is an opportunity for an evening swim from the side of the boat. Spend the night on the luxurious boat.
Day Four - Halong - Hanoi (B, L)
Wake up to Tai Chi on board and continue cruising amongst magnificent karst peakson, the tranquil green waters of Halong Bay. Stay on the boat before returning to Hanoi.
Day Five - Hanoi City Tour - Night Train to Da Nang (B, L)
Sightseeing today includes exploring Vietnam's charming capital. Start the day with a visit to some key sites such as the Ho Chi Minh Complex, The Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda. End the day's exploration with a cycle tour through the old quarter or enjoy a traditional water puppet show before transfering to the station for the night train to Da Nang. Day Six - Hoi An
Today is free for you to enjoy sightseeing at this ancient town with numerous interesting places. It is time for you to explore art and handicraft galleries, try on tailor-made clothes, relax at the riverside restaurants or take the short journey to the nearby beach. Stay overnight in Hoi An.
Day Seven - Hoi An - Tra Que Village (B, L)
Cycle into the countryside to the small farming community of Tra Que Vegetable Village. Here you can enjoy the lush green countryside and see the farmers at work, later learn to make Vietnamese spring roll and free on foot massage by herbs. In the afternoon, you're free to explore the charming Hoi An. Visit a lovely old-style house, Japanese bridge, a Chinese temple and the market.
Day Eight - Hoi An - My Son (B)
Depart for My Son, about 70km southwest of Da Nang. It boasts a complex of ancient ruins that date back 1700 years. Transfer back to Hoi An and you'll have leisure time. Stay overnight in Hoi An.
Day Nine - Hoi An - Da Nang - Fly to Ho Chi Minh (B)
The morning is at your leisure before boarding your flight to Ho Chi Minh.
Day 10 - Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
Explore the amazing network of Cu Chi Tunnels, where you'll see the legendary tunnel network used by the Viet Cong to infiltrate South Vietnam during the war. Return to Saigon for a short sightseeing tour; visit Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Palace and the War Remnants Museum. Later, visit the Cholon and free shopping at the Ben Thanh Market.
Day 11 - Ho Chi Minh - My Tho Ben Tre (B, L)
Pick up at the hotel at 8am. Then depart for My Tho, where you will take a boat ride along the river. View the still houses and the fruit plantation along the river bank as you approach the My Tho fishing village - a floating fish farm. Proceed to Toirtoise Island and have lunch in the orchard. Enjoy a boat ride through Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the shadow of the water coconut trees. Next you will visit a family business that epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Enjoy a row boat ride along the creeks. After trekking through the fruit plantation, return to the village. The full day of activity will conclude with a relaxing drive back to Ho Chi Minh.
Day 12 - Ho Chi Minh - Siem Reap (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the bus station for departure to Siem Reap (12 hours on bus). Alternative flight to Siem Reap is available on your request - contact merchant for details.
Day 13 - Siem Reap - Outlying Temples (B)
Drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the Banteay Srei built in the 10th century and dedicated to Shiva - regarded as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer art. Continue to the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya. These are the earliest temples in the Angkor area and are referred to the Rolous group. Visit the main one called Bakhong temple.
Day 14 - Angkor Tour (B)
Visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat - one of the world's most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art. Afternoon, explore the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of Temple, Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King.
Day 15 - Siem Reap - Fly back home (B)
The morning is at leisure before boarding your flight home.
