About Wrights Vineyard & Winery:
Wrights Vineyard & Winery is a true family business with a wine making history that dates back to the 1930s. All their grapes are grown organically using biodynamic techniques, so as a guest of the Wrights, you know you're in for a real treat.
The cellar door is great for all weather conditions as it has inside and outside seating and as it is only a 15 minute drive from the city – it is the perfect place to relax with family and friends. With an outside play area for kids and petanque for the adults this is a great summer spot. During January on Saturday's the cellar door will also have live local music.
The winery produces 10 different wines from their wine range Wrights and Natural Wine Co. Under the Wrights Reserve range you can select a glass of either Viognier, Chardonnay, Syrah or Late Harvest Semillon. Under the Natural Wine Co range they also produce Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Gewurztraminer.
Wrights Vineyard & Winery have won many accolades over the years, recently being the only winery in NZ with an 'Orange Wine' being awarded 5 stars and their Late Harvest Dessert wine being awarded 5 stars and winning the Dessert category in Gisborne wine awards this year.
