About Eliza's Manor Boutique Hotel:
Steeped in over three centuries of illustrious history, Eliza's Manor stands as a testament to timeless elegance and enduring grace. Constructed in 1861 by CW Wyatt, a distinguished member of the Provincial Council and the Executive Council, the manor passed through the hands of various notable figures before acquiring its current splendor. Under the ownership of merchant Maurice Harris, and later HF Pyne of Pyne Gould Guinness (PGG) fame, extensive renovations were undertaken in 1908, infusing the manor with the refined aesthetic for which it is renowned. Notably, the grand Kauri timber staircase, meticulously crafted in Scotland and shipped to New Zealand in a single piece, graces the foyer entrance, a symbol of the Manor's timeless allure. Throughout its storied past, Eliza's Manor has served myriad purposes, from a boarding house to a private hospital, lodging house, and family home, before evolving into its current incarnation as a luxurious accommodation and sought-after function venue. Despite sustaining significant damage in the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, the Manor emerged resilient, undergoing meticulous reconstruction to meet modern safety standards while preserving its historic charm. Today, this iconic manor exudes the enchanting charm of yesteryear, seamlessly blending historic grandeur with contemporary comforts. Experience the allure of a bygone era while enjoying the conveniences of modern hospitality at Eliza's Manor, where every moment is imbued with the romance of history
