Highlights

These must-see Wairakei silica terraces are the crowning jewel of this mystical place and continue to form naturally every day.
They provide a unique window into how the near-mythical pink-and-white versions once looked.
For an unforgettably warming experience, bathe at the bottom of silica terraces in a series of stunning naturally-heated hot pools.
Children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the pools - see fine print for details.

About Wairakei Terraces:

The Wairakei Terraces and Thermal Health Spa have recreated a series of hot thermal pools, which have been strategically positioned below silica terraces to take full advantage of the mineral enriched water that has been drawn to the earth’s surface from 1.5 kilometres underground – thereby providing a ‘back in time’ sensation, and an ideal setting for anyone wanting to indulge in something unique, and uniquely relaxing.
