About Camp Quality New Zealand:
Camp Quality is a national charitable organisation providing camps and activities for children living with cancer. Their programmes are managed and run by dedicated teams of talented volunteers, committed to bringing fun, hope and happiness into the lives of the children. The camps help these children build their resilience, realise their strength, recharge their emotional & physical batteries, create incredible friendships, and most importantly, get back to being kids. They passionately believe in the power of fun to help children and their families overcome the challenges that living with cancer can bring. Each year they run a summer camp, winter camps, family days and other events across Aotearoa New Zealand. They train over 300 volunteers to be companions for the campers-camp buddies. Each companion donates their time to be a 24/7 one-on-one buddy for their camper for the week of camp and beyond, often forming lifelong bonds. In turn, the companions gain valuable training and are enriched by the experience, standing them in good stead to become future leaders and good humans. There is no cost to families of children attending Camp Quality and there is no cost for companions to attend our camps and training.
