About Mt Cheeseman Ski Area:

Get in on the mountain action at Mt Cheeseman. It's a great spot that's open to the public (you don't need to be a member to ski here) and is the closest club ski area to Christchurch, being just 90 minutes (approximately 99km) drive away. You can drive right to the slopes and parking is an easy warm up walk away. The mountain has a sunny aspect with groomed runs and off-piste terrain catering for all abilities. It has two t-bar lifts (main t-bar and ridge t-bar) that provide access to the whole mountain and a learners' rope tow in a dedicated learners' area, so you don't have to do the hard yards and walk up the mountain.

Students are 18 years of age and older and must be full time and supply proof of full-time student status. Present student ID on arrival. Must be used in 1 visit by 1 person. Ski field being open is subject to weather conditions. Important note: the alpine road to ski field requires snow chains. All efforts to open the ski field are made daily, if however weather conditions dictate that safety is an issue, Mt Cheeseman Ski Area reserve the right to close the ski field at any time.
