Itinerary:
Day 1 - Beijing
Upon arriving in Beijing today, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to the hotel, for self check-in.
Day 2 - Beijing (BLD)
Today you are going to have a full day city tour of Beijing. Begin at the Summer Palace, the former summer retreat for the imperial family during the late Qing Dynasty and now China's largest and best-preserved royal garden. Proceed to the infamous Tiananmen Square before visiting the legendary Forbidden City, known as the Imperial Palace Museum. In the evening enjoy a traditional Chinese Acrobatic Show.
Day 3 - Beijing (BLD)
After breakfast, head to the Great Wall of China (Joyungguan Gate), one of the best-preserved sections of this 2,000-year-old architectural wonder. The Great Wall of China is the greatest symbol of ancient Chinese engineering and one of the world's most famous structures. You will be able to climb the Great Wall and take in the panoramic views from the top. Proceed to Yu Yu Family Boutiques for some souvenir shopping before you visit the two iconic venues from the outside, where the Olympic Games in Beijing were held: “The Bird’s Nest” (The National Stadium) and “The Water Cube” (The National Aquatics Center), where Michael Phelps won eight gold medals.
Day 4 - Beijing to Nanjing (BD)
Take a high-speed train to Nanjing and visit Lao Mendong Street upon arrival. Try some street food or enjoy a café and shop around this new trendy and eclectic area. This evening, enjoy Huaiyang cuisine flavours for dinner.
Day 5 Nanjing to Suzhou (BLD)
Visit the site of Grand Bao'en Temple and stop by a Jade Museum to learn about China’s jade fascination and most famous jewel stone. After lunch, you will drive to Suzhou and enjoy a cruise on Ancient Canal.
Day 6 - Suzhou to Hangzhou (BLD)
Visit the Lingering Garden in Suzhou. This is a very well known classical garden. Suzhou is the capital of silk in all of China. You will be able to experience touring a traditional Silk Factory and see the process of producing silk. At the end of the factory visit, you can spend some time exploring and shopping Chinese silk. After lunch, you will drive to Hangzhou and take a boat ride to visit West Lake, the soul of this sophisticated city and West Lake Xintiandi.
Day 7 - Hangzhou to Shanghai (BLD)
This morning before heading out to Shanghai, you will visit Liuhe Pagoda and learn more about China’s history. Hangzhou is well known as the capital of tea in all of China. A highlight of today will be to visit the most popular tea plantation in all of Hangzhou, the Dragon-Well Tea Plantation. After this drive to Shanghai and take the elevator up to the top floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center in order to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai.
Day 8 - Shanghai (BL)
After breakfast, take a city tour and visit the Shanghai Art Exhibition Center, Shanghai Xintiandi for some souvenir shopping, Nanjing Road and the very famous Bund area.
Day 9 - Shanghai - Home (B)
After breakfast, make your own way to the airport for your flight back home as your trip comes to an end.
