About Powderhorn Chateau:
The iconic Powderhorn Chateau building was the original home to F.J Carter of the famous Carter saw milling family. It was transported to its current site and opened for business in the summer of 1989. Its addition of the hotel in 1994 made this a hive of activity not only in winter but in summer as well with the location being right on the boarder of the Tongariro World National Heritage Park, providing entertainment for all walks of life.
