About the trek:
Follow in the footsteps of legendary mountaineers when you embark on this awe-inspiring 12-day trek. Explore some of the greatest natural sights in the world, popular amongst all passionate trekkers. Experience the thin air, colourful forests and gigantic glaciers along the way, guided by expert local Sherpa. Admire the culturally rich villages, bright prayer flags, and divine monasteries.
Starting in Kathmandu, you'll travel to Lukla aboard a small plane – the perfect way to experience this area's majestic scenery. The trek proper will begin the next day as you head to Phakding and then Namche Bazzar. Discover the culturally rich settlements of Tengboche, Dingboche, then ascend to higher altitudes where you will find Lobuche, Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp. You'll then return to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu for a farewell dinner to celebrate your successful trek.
Itinerary:
- Day one: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding , 3-4 hours
- Day two: Phakding to Namche Bazar, 6 hours
- Day three: acclimatization at Namche Bazzar
- Day four: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche, 6 hours
- Day five: Tyangboche to Dingboche, 6 hours
- Day six: acclimatization at Dingboche
- Day seven: Dingboche to Lobuche, 5.5 hours
- Day eight: Lobuche to Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp and overnight at Gorakshep, 7 hours
- Day nine: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and then to Pheriche, 8 hours
- Day 10: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar, 7.5 hours
- Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla, 7 hours
- Day 12: Lukla to Kathmandu and farewell dinner
