Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur City Tour with Batu Caves Half Day

On the way to Chinese Thean Ho Temple, you'll stop at Dataran Merdeka which means Independence Square. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building built in 1897, 41.2 m high clock tower, cricket field, 95-meter high flagpole, beautiful terraces and fountain that will soothe your eyes. Malaysian batik designs are mostly large floral motifs with vibrant colours, they are either hand-painted or block printed. batik has come to be used as a generic term which refers to the process of dyeing fabric by making use of a resist technique; covering areas of cloth with a dye-resistant substance to
prevent them absorbing colours. The technique is thought to be over a thousand years old. Next is a visit
to the world’s only Royal Selangor Pewter Factory-Visitor centre. Puter is a versatile alloy of tin,
copper and antimony which is transformed into an endless variety of homeware and gifts at the Royal
Selangor Pewter Factory. The Visitor Centre takes you back over a hundred years to the founding of the
Royal Selangor and its inextricable link with the history of Malaysia, to the present day as the world’s
largest pewter maker and its expansion into gold and sterling silver. The world's largest pewter tankard,
recognized by the Guinness Book of Records, was made by Royal Selangor in 1985 which is placed here.
Batu Caves is an iconic and popular tourist attraction in nearby Kuala Lumpur. The main attraction is the
large statue of the Hindu God, Lord Murugan at the entrance, besides a steep 272 steps This 113-year-
old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. Incorporated with
interior limestone formations said to be around 400 million years old, the temple is considered an
important religious landmark by Hindus. Overnight stay at hotel.
