Transfer on arrival at Queenstown airport to your accommodation and enjoy some free time. Queenstown’s town centre is compact and getting around is best by foot. As you explore, breathtaking views are never more than a few paces away.
This evening, sit back in your Skyline Gondola and enjoy a spectacular 220-degree panorama, with breathtaking views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Walter Peak, Cecil Peak and over Queenstown. Further, into the evening top-of-the line telescopes give stargazers the chance to view an amazing array of stunning Southern Hemisphere sights, in Queenstown’s clear unpolluted skies
Day 2: Milford Sound Cruise
Today’s drive along the scenic highway to Milford Sound features spectacular alpine scenery. Be sure to give yourself time to stop along the way to appreciate the beauty and sheer scale of the landscape. Wet or fine Milford Sound is an awesome sight. Your scenic cruise takes you amongst towering peaks and surging waterfalls. Keep a lookout for seals basking on the rocks, dolphins and penguins. Drive back to Queenstown after your cruise.
Day 3: Safari of the Scenes
Today’s scenic safari tour offers breathtaking mountain and forest views along the shore of Lake Wakatipu towards Glenorchy and the Paradise Valley. Visit the filming locations for Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy. Beyond Glenorchy travel up the Dart Valley to the filming location for Isengard, set amongst snow-capped mountains beside the turquoise waters of the Dart River. This setting offers views of Mt Earnslaw and its hanging glacier.
