One of the most exciting parts of this package is choosing a tour upon arrive that suits your adventurous side best. Enjoy the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes walk, and marvel at the limestone landscape of pancake-shaped rock formations. The Blowholes are a mixture of compressed water and air escaping through the caverns below and being forced upwards, creating a huge wall of spray. If a little slice of NZ history tickles your fancy, explore the 19th-century gold mining town at Shantytown Heritage Park. Perhaps you'll get lucky panning for your own gold. For those that enjoy a day out on the water, book in for a boat trip tour on Lake Brunner and get up close and personal with the magnificent glacial waters.
