Detail Itinerary of the trek- 16 Days
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345 meters) and transfer to hotel ( No meals):
Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel and get refreshed & familiar with your surroundings, Your trek leader will meet you at eventide & brief you on the pros & cons of your whole trip, have supper & if you feel like it you can go for a stroll down the streets of Thamel, a well-known hub for tourists throughout the world. If you reckon you are tired with the jetlag, then you can go to bed & get up fresh for a new day in the land of the Himalayas. It’s your first overnight in the valley of temples & cows.
Day 02: Full day historical tour of Kathmandu valley (B):
After having breakfast at hotel, You are taken on a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley. This will include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath or Monkey, Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu is a literal mix of religious diversity & western influence that goes back right to the ‘hippie’ days of yore; & there’s nothing to change this, if ever, but it’s a wonderful combination of the ancient & the contemporary, some of the sites you visit are famously recognised UNESCO world heritage sites, return to hotel and you will have some time to shop your trekking gear if you need and overnight at your Hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi (1417m) – 9 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at hotel, the journey starts about 7 AM in the morning and head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabrubensi, we also get to view the enthralling panorama of the Himalaya, including the Annapurna’s, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region, the first part of your drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is pretty smooth, the path moves along a gravel road. During the rainy season, the route is sometimes blocked due to landslides, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 4: Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2470m) - 5 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today is the first day of the trek and it’s a cool hike, first the trail gradually ascends to Landslide (1810m.), afterwards, the trail ascends gently to Rimche (2400m.) through Bamboo (1960m.) and at the end the trail is level to the Lama Hotel and overnight at the Guesthouse.
Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3430m) - 6 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek and there are occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees as we trek through the forest, at Ghora Tabela (3000m), the trail emerges from the forest. While walking here, you will catch a glimpse of white monkeys and local birds. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project hereabouts, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants, the trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 6: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangjin Gompa (3870m) - 3 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek and the trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive, we cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. There is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory at the end of the trail. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 7: Rest day at Kyangjin Gompa and we do some excursions around (B, L, D):
This is a day to rest and explore the area, you will visit the monastery and the cheese factory & sample some of the cheese, its tasty & real fresh; you then walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m], directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 8: Trek from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel - 6 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek from Kyangjin, then retrace the trekking route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela, after lunch, you will continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 9: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Gaon (2581m) – 5 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek descending to Landslide and the route separates from here to Syabru Gaon, you will take the upper route & then the trail ascends all the way to Syabru Gaon, From here you will enjoy spectacular views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), & the Tibetan Himal ranges that we see on the horizons and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari) (3250m – 5 Hours) (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today, the trails from Thulo Syabru to Foprang Danda (3200m.) follows steeply an ascended path passing through Dursagang (2660m.) along with the view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountains and oak, Hemlock, firs & rhododendron forests to gain a ridge, then the path gently ascends for some distance and follows a flat level to Sing Gompa which provides wonderful views, enlivening nature and a tasty Yak Cheese factory, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda (4361m.) via Lauribinayak La (3920m) - 6 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today, the first part of the trails emerges gently ascending up to Lauribinayak and the top of Lauribinayak gives us an exotic feeling, then the trail steeply ascends all the way to Gosaikunda, you follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal chuli (7893m) Manaslu range (8156mm), Ganesh Himal range (7406m), Tibetan peaks and Langtang Lirung. On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung, you pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebinayak, cross a small ridge and have your first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda, according to legend, Gosainkunda was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the world, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 12: Trek from Gosaikunda to Ghopte via Lauribinayak Pass (4609m) – 7 Hours (B, L, D):
After having early breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and the trail leaves Gosainkund and climbs through rugged terrain, past four more small lakes to the Laurebina La (4610m), the highest point of this trek, keep looking back for spectacular views of Manaslu and the mountains of the Ganesh Himal, as well as the now familiar Langtang Lirung, we then descend steeply to Ghopte and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 13: Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2,600m) - 5 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today we join the other path of Helambu, and it is a pleasant walk through alpine forest for one and half hour to Tharepati, where we can have lunch and enjoy views of the snow-capped peaks of the Jugal Himalayan range in the east and Ganesh - Manaslu in the west, after lunch we follow the trail descending for few hours to Kutumsang and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 14: Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani Danda (2,195m)-5 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today, we have pretty nice walk in the morning passing through a number of rural farm villages, through the village of Gul Bhanjyang and on to Pati Bhanjyang after a 3-4 hours trek, from here, there is a short uphill climb to the overnight stop at Chisopani danda and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 15: Trek from Chisopani to Sundarijal (1,380m) and drive to Kathmandu - 4 Hours (B, L, D):
After having breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and today is the last day of this beautiful journey on some of the loveliest mountains in the world, in the morning, we walk through serene forest and farmlands and on to the top of the ridge of Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang at 2,438m with its great views of Kathmandu Valley and from here, the trek descends to Sundarijal (beautiful water) through cool forest with monkeys and fresh streams, this is a popular picnic spot for many Kathmandu people who want to escape from the busy crowded metropolitan life in this ancient city, another hour descending from Sundarijal and we drive to Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.
Day 16: Transfer to international airport for your connecting flight home (B):

Hotel & Accommodation on Langtang Circuit Trek
The offer is a 2/3 star standard hotel (3 nights) in Kathmandu and Lodge/teahouse during the Langtang Circuit Trek and the rooms are basic, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets, A few have electric lights and all have a spacious dining room-lounge on lodges during the trek, they will accommodate group in local lodges available each day. They send a porter ahead of us to book the required number of rooms for the group (rooms cannot be booked in advance in all places). Please remember that some of them are very basic and a sense of adventure is necessary and there is some luxury 4/5 star accommodation available in Kathmandu and if you want, can book them for you for your Kathmandu stay so, do let us know if you want to upgrade your accommodation in Kathmandu.
Transports Used on Langtang Circuit Trek
We at Outfitter Nepal will provide private vehicles for the airport transfers and sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and local bus transportation from Kathmandu to Syaprubeshi and from Sundarijal to Kathmandu on the Langtang Circuit Trek however there is an option of taking private jeep transportation to Syaprubeshi and return so, do let us know if you want to upgrade the transportation.
Electricity & Battery Charges on Trek
There are electricity available in some of the villages of the Langtang Circuit Trek where you can re-charges your camera batteries and there is solar power in some villages you trek through and you can recharge your batteries in those places as well if they have enough power and it is suggested that you have spare batteries as well and you will have to pay some for recharging batteries.
Meals & Drinks on Trek
The meals are included in your price of the trek and they are taken in lodges; you will have breakfast and dinner at the lodge where you stay overnights and your guide will choose and stop for lunch on available place every day and it is recommended you to bring water purification pills since you will have normal water for free, then you can have the normal water and use the medicine and drink however you have options of buying bottled water or boiled water in every place as well.
Luggage/Bag Pack on Langtang Circuit Trek
Your main luggage on the trek will be carried by porters and you simply carry a day pack with water bottle, camera, sun-screen, spare jacket, and etc, during the trek, as small load allows you for full enjoyment of the trek. A trek bag is ideal for your main luggage, plus a small lockable bag for travel clothes or anything that you do not need during trek which you can leave at hotel’s locker room/safe deposit box in Kathmandu for free of charge.
Guide & Porter on Trek
You are provided a trained trekking guide (handles the logistics and guides you and your team on the trek) and porters, A porter for each 2 trekkers and a porter carry about 20 Kg (10 Kg from each trekkers) and if there are more than 10 people in the group then you will be provided an additional guide for the group.
Group Size, Guide & Crew Member
The Langtang Circuit trek is organised for single people to maximum 14 people at once or even if you have more than 14 people then you can split the group in to two or more groups (according to the number of trekkers) however you all can walk together and stay at same guest house and there are only different guide, and there are 1 guide up to 10 people and 2 guide for 11-14 people and a porter for each 2 trekkers.
Personal Expenses on Trek
Personal expenses depend largely on your habit and all the meals are included on the Langtang Circuit Trek, You only need money for table drinks (alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages), snacks while walking (some smaller shops are available along the trail in the areas), tips, souvenirs, hot shower (available in some places), and meals (A meal cost 5-7USD in Kathmandu) for your Kathmandu stay, entrance fees ( approx: 25USD) while your tour in Kathmandu, if you do not drink alcohol and sopping then 12-15USD per day should be enough for the hot drinks, shower and snacks on trek and tips are appreciated by your support team after the trek. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. As a suggestion, it is advised you to allocate 10 - 15% of the total tour cost as tips to the staff and you can do this if you feel the services have been good.
Gear Available in Kathmandu
It's not necessary to spend a lot of money buying equipment for the trek in your country as Majority of these gears can be bought at reasonable rates in Kathmandu.
A typical day on Trek
Each morning on the Langtang Circuit trek, after packing your bags and having hot breakfast at the lodge, you set off on the day’s walk/hike/trek and after walking for 3-4 hours, you will stop for lunch at around midday. The afternoon’s walk is generally shorter and usually arrives at destination in time for afternoon tea. The remainder of the afternoon can be spent exploring the village, doing a bit of washing or simply relaxing with a good book. On some days you will arrive at the destination by lunchtime and the entire afternoon will be free then after dinner, the evening will often be spent playing cards and reliving the day’s adventures, before retiring for a well-earned sleep.
Itinerary & Changes
The 16-day itinerary for the Langtang Circuit Trek that includes your arrival and departure days plus a day tour in Kathmandu however if you do not want the accommodation in Kathmandu and tour in Kathmandu and want to book your hotel yourself in Kathmandu and just want to take the trekking part then they arrange the trek on that way as well on your request, do let us know your inquiry then you will communicate and finalise the cost and itinerary that you required and The given itinerary for the Langtang circuit Trek should be taken as a guideline only, depending on the prevailing situation, you can modify it to some extent after consulting with your guide while you are on trek as well, however, the date of trek completion should always coincide with the original itinerary where many unforeseen events may contribute to the need for a change in itinerary, In such cases, the guide will suggest the best alternative similar to your original program.
Insurance/Rescue/Evacuation
In case of a serious sickness or a casualty while you are on Langtang Circuit Trek (which is unlikely to happen), they will do everything to transfer you to the nearest hospital to save your life (this has happened to us few times) and you are entirely liable for all the expenses incurred in evacuation/rescue, so, please make sure that these expenses are covered by your insurance policy before assigning for the trek or be prepared to pay on your own after getting back to Kathmandu.
