About Rarotonga:
Rarotonga is the capital of the Cook Islands, a group of 15 islands located in the South Pacific. The Cook Islands have a total land area of 92 square miles and are scattered over an ocean area the size of India. The Cook Islands were settled by Polynesians over 1,200 years ago and were eventually named after Captain James Cook, who first sighted several of the islands in the 1770s. Annexed by New Zealand in 1901, they attained independence on the 4th August 1965. Rarotonga has a population of less than 10,000 and a circumference of just 32km (20 miles). It is almost completely surrounded by coral reefs, creating a calm, protected lagoon. The interior boasts lush mountains and tropical rain forests.
About Palm Grove Resort:
Palm Grove is one of the most popular mid-range accommodations on Rarotonga. Originally opened in 1978 with just two units, Palm Grove has grown quite a bit over the years! Thirteen garden bungalows set amongst hibiscus and timpani flowers are complemented with nine beachfront bungalows set alongside their secluded beach. Bungalows are available in studio size up to a three bedroom layout, in the garden or beachfront settings.
With an onsite restaurant and bar, swimming pool, and an outstanding beach, Palm Grove is the perfect base from which to explore all of the wonderful things about Rarotonga.
About the Garden Studio Room:
The Garden Studio bungalows are situated around the swimming pool, in amongst flowering foliage. The interiors have tiled floors, bamboo-ply ceilings, and modern furnishings. These bungalows cater to a maximum of three people and children under the age of six stay for free. Bungalow amenities include full kitchen (fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery/cutlery), bathroom with shower, premium super king bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen TV, stereo/mp3 player, telephone, room safe, and private patio.
