- Alpaca wool is more heavily medullated than sheep's wool: in other words, there are tine hollow areas in the centres of many individual alpaca fibres. These areas hold the warmth, creating greater thermal capacity, thereby keeping alpacas warm when it's cold and cool in higher temperatures. In addition, this hollow structure of alpaca fibre makes it lighter in weight
- 50/50 alpaca and wool duvets take advantages of both alpaca and sheep wool. Alpaca fur is thin and straight. and blended with sheep's curly wool, the wool becomes more cohesive and gains more cushioning due to the curliness
