About Vi's Tea House at The Buried Village of Te Wairoa:

Take a trip back in history to the origins of 1905 and then the 1930's of the Smith family. Their family history is beautifully displayed on walls throughout the Tea House and Buried Village, showing the Smith's family progression in wonderful photographs that will take you back to a much simpler time. Sit down to a cuppa coffee, home-baked sausage rolls and mince and cheese pies, bacon and egg pies, quiches, cakes, scones with jam and cream, sandwiches, wraps, croissants, muffins and seasonal salads.

Onsite is also a gift store that even the locals shop at for authentic gifts such as Maori balms and cultural symbols.
