Six Bottles of 'Tastes Like' Wine

• Made by Known Unknown the 'Tastes Like' range of wines are made simply to reflect their region and variety
• 'Tastes Like' is a range of wine that offers some well-priced, more traditional wines to restaurants, bars and wine shops (especially local ones) and to offer some safer options in the cellar door and tasting room
• The name comes from the fact that Known Unknown wines are all fermented using wild yeast and often utilise less traditional techniques like carbonic and extended maceration, egg-fermentation, skin-fermentation and Méthode Ancestrale (aka Pet Nat). That is to say they often taste quite unique and singular and are less about expressing the varietal character of a grape than giving you a fun drinking experience

2016 Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc:

• This is a classic Marlborough expression with a little bit of age. Silky smooth with notes of passionfruit and guava, lemongrass and citrus, herbs and a touch of jalapeno.

The nose is elegant in presentation with aromas of fresh and savoury gooseberry fruit, with green capsicums, herbs and a suggestion of green beans. The aromatics are still fresh with nuances of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich and luscious flavours of gooseberry fruit with notes of tropical fruits, herbs and a touch of green bean. The fruit forms a good core and has palate presence, flowing along a fine-textured line with balanced acidity, leading to a lingering finish. This is an elegant, gently rich and sweet-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours and hints of green beans on a fine palate line. 2020 Hawkes Bay Syrah:

• 2020 Tastes Like Syrah is 100% from a sustainably managed vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels and is classic Hawkes Bay Syrah. It's medium weight with red and black fruit; tons of smoky, spicy and floral aromatics and a clean, focused finished.
• ABV: 13%
• Volume: 750ml
• "Prepare for a hit of meaty, savoury, classic violet and peppercorn characters on the nose of this new syrah and enjoy how it’s followed by smooth, earthy, dark cocoa flavours and layers of nicely chewy tannins.
