Itinerary:
Day one: arrive in Kathmandu (1300m)
After you arrive at the airport, you will be greeted by a representative who will take you to your hotel for check in. After everyone has arrived, your group will be formally introduced to your guide for the next few days and will be given a safety briefing. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day two: Kathmandu sightseeing
After breakfast, you'll be taken for an interesting tour around Kathmandu. Escorted by an English speaking guide, you'll get a real taste of the colourful and vibrant Nepalese culture. During the tour, you will visit the Monkey temple Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square, a complex of palaces, courtyards and temples built between the 12th and 18th centuries.
Day three: drive from Kathmandu – Pokhara
You will be driven from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a trip of about six hours. Pokhara is a tourist paradise, filled with natural and cultural sights to behold. With views across the hills to the north and out to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, you are sure to fall in love with this beautiful destination.
Day four: drive from Pokhara – Phedi (1130m) & trek to Pothana (1900m)
Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and begin your trek to Pothana, about five hours in duration. The trail ascends all the way to Pothana through forests until you reach the village of Dhampus. This is a great opportunity to admire the magnificent views of the Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. The rest of the trail heads towards Pothana through the forest. Overnight in Pothana.
Day five: Pothana- Chhomrong (2040 m)
In the morning, trek from Pothana to Chhomrong, a trek of about six and a half hours. The trail ascends gently to Deurali and then begins to descend to Bherikharka through the forest. The trail is then flat until Landruk village. Pass through local villages rich in culture, terraced fields and lush green hills. From here, the trail descends to Modi khola and ascends all the way to Chhomrong. Along the way, you will be able to relax in the hot spring at Jhinudanda. Chhomrong is a big Gurung village, with good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Fishtail.
Day six: Chhomrong – Bamboo (2340 M)
The trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo takes about five hours. Leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends down a stone staircase and crosses the Chhomrong Khola on a swaying suspension bridge, then climbs out of the valley. High above the Modi Khola on the west bank, the trail passes through forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. Climbing further on a rocky trail, you will reach Sinuwa, at an elevation of 2350m. Climb through rhododendron forests to Kuldi. This was once a British sheep breeding project; the stone houses are now an ACAP visitor centre. In winter, it’s common to find snow anywhere from this point on. Descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests, then continue until you reach Bamboo Lodge.
Day seven: Bamboo – Deurali (3230 m)
Trek from Bamboo to Deurali, which takes about five hours. Gently ascend through bamboo forests filled with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees until you reach Dovan. Pass through a muddy trail high above the river. After a short trek, you will reach the Himalayan Hotel. Beyond, the trail steeply ascends up to Hinko Cave. From here, it takes approximately twenty minutes to reach Deorali.
Day eight: Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp (4170 m)
The trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp passes through the Machhapuchhare Base Camp and takes about four hours. From here, the valley becomes less steep and you will see the gates to the sanctuary. As the trail continues into the sanctuary, it crosses two avalanche tracks on a narrow trail hurdling up against the cliffs. After a short trek you will be at Bagar. The trail gently ascends until you reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp. Here you can enjoy views of Mount Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhare or Fishtail. The path continues through alpine meadows and after some distance, begins to ascend. After a short trek, you will reach the Annapurna Base Camp.
Day nine: Annapurna Base Camp – Dovan (2630 m)
The trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan takes about five hours. This descending section of the trail is much easier and you should have no problem reaching Sinuwa in a single day from the Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 10 : Dovan – Chhomrong (2040m)
Trek from Dovan to Chhomrong over about four hours. The path is descending up to Bamboo, after which the trail goes steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar. From here, the trail is quite flat until you reach Sinuwa. You will trek to the Chhomrong Khola and then follow a stone staircase for almost an hour before you reach Chhomrong.
Day 11 : Chhomrung – Ghandruk (1940 m)
This section of the trek takes almost four hours. The trail stretches at a flat level for nearly an hour, passing through rhododendron forests, terraces and green fields. At this point, you will have to gradually descend until Kimrung Khola, before the trail ascends steeply to Kimrung Hill. Here, the path gently descends all the way to Ghandruk village, where you will find a market and museum.
Day 12 : Ghandruk – Nayapool – Pokhara
The trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul via Birethanti takes about six hours. You will begin your trail following a flat path passing through forests, rocks and terraces. After Kimche the trail descends through human settlements and terraces, until you reach Seuli Bazaar. The trail then moves along the bank of Modi Khola to Birethanti. Birethanti is a small town with several lodges, shops and houses. The final part of the trek is about twenty minutes, through a flat path up to Nayapul where you will board your vehicle to drive back to Pokhara – approximately one and a half hours.
Day 13 : Pokhara – Kathmandu
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu on a tourist mini bus – about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you will pass Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal’s first Cable car operates, taking you up to Manakamana Temple. From Naubishe you will climb up to Thankot, the gateway to Nepal's capital city.
Day 14 : free day in Kathmandu
The day is yours to use as you please, then in the evening you will be driven to a farewell dinner with a Nepalese cultural dance.
Day 15 : final departure
