Goat Island Marine Reserve, situated just outside Leigh, was the first marine reserve in New Zealand and has been protected for more than 35 years. The Glass Bottom Boat, Aquador, runs trips at Goat Island, world-renowned for its abundant marine life. A purpose-designed 11-metre vessel, the Glass Bottom Boat gives you the best possible view of marine life both above and below the surface. Check out the colourful array of snapper, blue maomao, goatfish, leatherjackets, marblefish, eagle rays and stingrays – you might even be lucky enough to spot an orca or dolphin!
