2-Days / 2-Nights Fully Catered Walk Includes:

The Walk:

• Day 1: 14kms (5 - 7 hours with breaks) - Moderate/energetic walk with 2 hill climbs. Or 12kms or 7kms (with 1 hill climb) - the choice of how far you walk is yours!
• Day 2: 10kms (3 - 4 hours walk) - Moderate/energetic walk with 2 hill climbs

• There are hill climbs on both days. A reasonable level of fitness is required as well as good sturdy, comfortable footwear. Over the 2 days, this would be classed as a moderate/energetic walk, please make sure you wear in your boots before the walk and have some hill walking practice!

Dates:

Group Size:

• A minimum of 2 walkers is required to operate the walk during the Season, with a maximum group number of 10. Use this walk to spend quality time with family, friends, work colleagues. associates or like-minded trampers.
• To have the walk to yourselves, your group must number 8, or pay the equivalent price.
• Please note the accommodation varies slightly for groups of only 2 or 3 walkers, as you will be brought back to Whareama each night. Sorry we no longer accept 'lone walkers', as for health & safety reasons you must always walk in at least 'pairs' on our walk.
• Please book as a group, rather than individually. This gives us the ability to allocate rooms according to your group size.

Accommodation:

• We welcome you to Ica Station Homestead, Whareama, on your first night, anytime between 4 & 6pm. Here, depending on your group size, you will be accommodated in one (or both) of our stand-alone self-contained cottages (India House or Ica Whare). Ica Station Homestead is at the end of a 'no exit' road, so there is plenty of private and secure parking. Please make yourselves at home and enjoy the quiet, peaceful atmosphere the Ica Station Homestead grounds offer you. 
• Your second night is spent at the Wai Ngaio Retreat, with it's ever changing Pacific Ocean views!  The Wai Ngaio Retreat belongs to Castlepoint Station and is a large ex-hunting and fishing lodge, that is set back in the hill overlooking the sea. 
• After walking back to Ica (Day 2 Walk), you can cool yourself down with a dip in our swimming pool... or soothe those aching muscles in our outdoor heated spa pool before heading home or off to travel some more!
• Please Note: If you are a group of only 2 or 3, you will be picked up and brought back to Whareama each night to your accommodation.  

Meals:

• For our fully catered walk option, we use as much locally sourced fresh produce as we can to give you delicious meals. We provide you with all the provisions for a 'self-serve' continental breakfast, picnic lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal with dessert.
• There are complimentary provisions of tea (Dilmah), instant coffee, hot chocolate/milo, juice and filter water at the cottages.
• Meat and vegetarian meal options are included in our price. We can provide a gluten free (gf) 2-course evening meal at no extra cost, but you are asked to bring your own preferred gf bread, cereals, milk and any snacks you think you will need to supplement our menu. Our 'fayre' is a good old fashioned, 'healthy, hearty' - enjoy what you are given affair!
• Please inform us of any special dietary requests or intolerances at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate them, although there may be an extra charge for this or you will be asked to self-cater.

About the Whareama Coastal Walk:

Welcome to the Whareama Coastal Walk! The Whareama Coastal Walk is a fantastic 2-Day / 2-Night fully catered New Zealand walking experience over private farmland with beautiful Wairarapa coastline views, for groups of 2 to 10 persons. You complete a loop over the two days, so no bumping into other walkers. Following well marked farm tracks, lane-ways or fence-lines, you walk at your own comfortable pace with a map and written directions (there's also a marker every 200m... so you won't get lost!).

On the East Coast of the North Island, Whareama is situated between the popular beach resorts of Castlepoint and Riversdale Beach. It takes only 40 minutes to get here from Masterton and 2 hours to drive from Wellington or Palmerston North and 3 & half hours from the Hawke's Bay region.
