About:
The 12-day Nepal Adventure starts with your arrival in Kathmandu, followed by a day tour there, a drive to Pokhara and trek to Poonhill and return to Pokhara. This is followed by a drive to Chitwan Park for the Jungle Safari and finally return to Kathmandu to take your return flights home.
The highlights of the tour are to trekking to Ghorepani Poon Hill which is one of the most popular short and sweet treks in the Annapurna Region. Here, you will have views of the beautiful Himalayas of the Annapurna Himalaya range. A must-do on this trek is to climb on Poon Hill. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m). The Ghorepani trek leads to the west of Pokhara, giving superb Himalayan scenery of the whole Annapurna trekking region. The treks in the area offer spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages, inhabited particularly by the Gurungs and Magars communities, thick rhododendron forests, which are full of birds, and deep sub-tropical valleys; all set below the Annapurna’s with the scenic peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail).
Another highlight is the Jungle safari in Chitwan. Chitwan is accessible for all the travellers as it is located in the southern middle part of Nepal and is linked by well paved roads and a regular tourist bus service from Kathmandu and Pokhara. Experience various species of raremplants and animals. Chitwan is situated only 150m above the sea level, during March-June the fog covers all the way around. Feb-May is the best game-viewing season.
Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport transfer to hotel (No meals)
You will be met & greeted by an airport representative who will be on standby to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Your evening is free and after you’ve refreshed, you can go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with your surroundings. Window shopping would be a good start to look around, your first overnight in the valley of temples & cows. Probably the most in the world; however, these unusual sights are sometimes welcome & interesting.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley & an orientation ( Breakfast Included)
After having breakfast at hotel, you will be taken for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley; you will be escorted by a professional guide and your tour will include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple - Swayambhunath (note, there are real monkeys down here & they can be a pain in the neck, especially if you are munching something while climbing the steps to the temple; whatever your munching could vanish from your hands in seconds if you’re not careful. The best way to appease these monkeys is by buying some bananas from vendors just by the roadside to the temple & distribute them on your way up, they’d be happy & leave you alone).
Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhanath Stupa. The Pashupatinath is a significant place of visit because this is a heritage site & is the most important religious site for Hindus in Nepal & India. Within the boundaries of this temple are cremation zones where the bodies of Nepalese, right from the pauper on the streets to the king of Nepal. In the early evening you get back to your hotel & refresh after which your trek leader will meet the group & orient you on the whole program related to your trip. You will even have sufficient time to buy some trek gear if you need any in Thamel area, overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (Breakfast Included)
A drive along the scenic Trisuli and Marsyangdi River to reach Pokhara, it’s a pretty good drive as you go by the beautiful river which is also good for rafting; you can view Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak. Pokhara is a tourist's paradise full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, & temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with lovely mountains; after 6 hours of driving; you will arrive in Pokhara, the city of lakes, welcome to this beautiful town of serene lakes that gives so much meaning to your holidays, overnight at your hotel.
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedunga (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After having breakfast at the hotel, you start to drive to Nayapul which takes approximately one and half hours, you then start the first part of the hike out to Tikhedunga (1577M) Via Birethanti (1065m.) this is a pretty easy flat-out hike as we pass through several small lively villages and settlements, after some time, we will ascend gently to the final destination of the day, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After having hot breakfast at lodge, you start the trek and ascend steeply for the first 2 hours then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, villages. This path gives breathtaking views of Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), and the grand Annapurna (7219m) south on the way. The trekking trail gets quite easy going as you pass through rhododendron and shadowy forests amidst the cackling of birds. You ascend gently up to the final camp to the Ghorepani, check into the Lodge and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Hike to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise views over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other beautiful snowcapped mountains in the morning. Return down to Ghorepani and have a hot breakfast at the lodge then trek to Tadapani (2650m.). A majority of this trail is through blooming rhododendron forests; the beautiful flower makes the jungle colourful in spring when they bloom. Check in to the lodge in Tadapani and overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After having breakfast at the lodge, today, its an easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests, you will hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way, this is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village, there is a handicraft centre and Gurung museum, from this village you will see the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail, overnight at Lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul & Drive to Pokhara (Breakfast & Lunch)
After having breakfast at hotel, you start the last day of trekking, it is very easy trek by descending gently half of the way through the rice field and local villages to Syauli bazaar until Nayapul then drive to Pokhara, check in to the hotel and your evening is free, overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After an early morning breakfast at hotel, you will take a six hour drive to Chitwan and check into your jungle lodge and embark on a wildlife Tharu village tour, overnight at lodge.
Day 10: Full day of go-wild jungle activities (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast amidst the sweet chirping of birds, you set out for a full day of jungle activities that include Jungle Walking and Elephant Back Riding Safari across streams & into the jungles. You can enjoy watching the Elephants bathing and visit the elephant Breeding centre. While having supper, enjoy a scintillating Tharu cultural stick dance that’s real exciting to watch, overnight at lodge.
Day 11: Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu (Breakfast & Dinner)
After breakfast, enjoy an interesting Bird watching tour in the morning. Drive to Kathmandu and check into the hotel, evening is free, overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure (Breakfast)
Having enjoyed wonderful holiday of different ventures that shows you the true depths of Nepal’s natural beauty in unusual climatic conditions and it’s changing landscapes; it is time to return home.
