Everest Base Camp Trek Detail Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu
After arriving Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel by. You'lll be briefed on the Nepal trekking itinerary by your tour manager. Overnight stay at a three-star hotel (Hotel Nepalaya).
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
After breakfast you'll head on your sightseeing tour with your guide. This includes several Hindu temples such as Pashupatinath, listed by UNESCO in World Heritage Sites and the largest Buddhist Stupa, and ancient royal palace in Bouddha. You can also visit the Monkey Temple also called ad Swyambhunath, built some 2000 years ago and visit Patan, the city of fine arts. Overnight stay at the hotel (Hotel Nepalaya).
Day 03: Flight to Lukla
Today, you will take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which takes around 35 minutes. From Lukla, you will head towards Phakding (2652m) and climb to the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. On the way you can view the magnificent beauty of Kusum Kangaru, Mt Kwondge and you will also pass a few tea houses, a suspension bridge and mani walls. Overnight stay at a guesthouse (Beer Garden Hotel).
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (six hours)
Today, you will start climbing from Phakding to Namche (3,440m). After a slight rise from Jhorsalle, the trail encounters a waterfall, mani walls, Jakhu, and the wonder bridge over Koshi. Throughout the day, you will pass through villages interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron giant fir and pine trees. While walking you will be rewarded (weather permitting) with your first glimpse of Kusum Kanggru (6369m), Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8,848 m) and Nuptse (7879 m), followed by a steep climb to the beautiful village of Namche Bazaar (3440m). Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 05: Rest day, Acclimatization Day
Your fifth day will be spent exploring Namche Baaar and the nearby area including the Everest viewing point, Khumjung Village and Thame. This acclimatization day is important before proceeding to the higher altitudes to come. If you have spare time you can explore Namche and experience Sherpa culture and relax with great views of Kangpoche Teng and Kwangde and Thame Gompa Nangpa to the north. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek to Thyanboche (five hours)
On the sixth day you will start the trail heading towards historical Tengboche. Situated on a saddle at 3870m, it's surrounded by a clear dwarf fires and Rhododendrons. Later, Kwongde (6187m) Tawache (6542 m) Everest (8,848 m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) all offer an inspiring panorama of gigantic Himalayan peaks. You will then visit the Thyanboche Buddhist Monastery which is considered the largest in the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at the local lodge (Thyanboche Guest House).
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (five hours)
On the seventh day of trekking you will head to Dingboche from Thyanboche. The valley follows the Lobuche River and you will move down into the River to set in motion the last and most vertical climb of the day, reaching Dingboche. As you reach there you will view a striking display of valleys and fields surrounded by stone walls for the protection of barley, potatoes, buckwheat and grazing animals. Overnight stay at a guesthouse (Good Luck Hotel).
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (four hours)
Trek to Lobuche from Dingboche in the early morning. You will discover different Peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse, Amadoplom and Pumoru. Here, you will find yourself in the surrounding areas of Everest. Finally, you will arrive at Lobuche and are welcomed by sights of beautiful mountains and icy glaciers. Overnight stay at a guesthouse (Yeti Hostel).
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base base camp (5345 m) via Gorak Shep & Back to Gorak Shep for sleep
Today you will trek to Everest Base camp via Gorak Shep from Lobuche. As soon as you reach Gorak Shep, you'll see the snow-covered mountains including Mount Everest, Kalapther, Pumori and the rest of the region. Overnight stay in a local lodge (Laliguras Hotel).
Day 10: Trek to Kala Patthar (5545 m) and Trek down to Pheriche (4371 m)
On this day you will enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest – "Goddess Mother of the World" – and the surrounding peaks from Kala Patthar. After soaking in the breathtaking views you will start your return journey. You will reach Pheriche, a small village in the Khumbu region, at the end of the day. Overnight stay at a guesthouse (Nagarkot Hotel).
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (six hours)
The journey back to Namche from Pheriche is quite easy and comfortable as it traverses through several Sherpa settlement areas and villages. You should find yourself full of energy as the altitude decreases. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 12: Trek to Lukla (seven hours)
The trek continues further downhill until you reach Lukla after almost seven hours of trekking and exploring. You will be staying in Lukla for the rest of the day where you can prepare yourself to board a flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu
Board your flight back to Kathmandu and enjoy the 30 minutes of exhilarating mountain flight. The rest of the time in Kathmandu, you are free to do as you please: shopping, dining or more exploring. In the evening you'll participate a cultural dinner with your guide. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu (Hotel Nepalaya).
Day 14– Departure from Kathmandu
Head to the airport for your flight home.
