Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Upon arriving at Delhi airport, a representative will meet you and collect your baggage. You will be transferred to your hotel of stay. On arrival at the hotel, a traditional welcome awaits you. You are greeted and welcomed with garlands of fresh flowers. Rest of the day at leisure to unwind yourself from the long flight.
Day 2: Delhi
After breakfast you will venture into old Delhi. This will give you a chance to get comfortable with India’s energy and pace of life and acclimatise to its people and surroundings. Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square) is without doubt, the busiest market area in Delhi. Khari Baoli is Asia’s largest spice market. Stroll through the bustling, busy lanes of the area. Afterwards, you will be head back to your hotel for a relaxed afternoon. In the evening, you will be visiting Indian family over tea and will witness preparation of 2-3 Indian recipes (curry based and dry both) with some traditional Indian breads and stuffed parathas. Afterwards, enjoy the dinner where you will be served what you have prepared.
Day 3: Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast, depart on a tour of India’s capital. In New Delhi, drive past India Gate and visit Humayun’s Tomb. Afterwards, you will be driven to Nivedyam which is famous for its South Indian food. Enjoy a typical vegetarian (non-vegetarian not served) thali which is consists of Paratha, Poori, vegetable with gravy, dry some vegetable, sambar with some poppadum, some Indian pickle with a portion of sweet.
This tour will continue for another 4 hours with a beautiful walk of 2-3 hours will make you visit the sites of Mehruli which is not part of the usual tours of New Delhi. During this walk you will visit Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb. Later visit Gandhak Ki Baoli. This walk will also include visit of Jahaj Mahal, Zafar Mahal and Hijron Ka Khanqah. The walk ends with visit of Mehrauli Bazar and vegetable market.
Day 4: Delhi - Agra
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Agra. Later, visit Agra Fort, a palace that is notable for its smooth blending of Hindu and central Asian architectural styles. Afterwards, enjoy tea/coffee with small portion of snacks (if desire) at Sheroes Hangout. Afterwards, you will be dropped to the hotel to relax.
In the evening, you will be visiting local family from Agra where you will learn some vegetarian delicacies from “Marwari” kitchen and enjoy dinner served in the traditional sit-down thali style of ‘Marwari”. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Agra
Early morning, visit the Taj Mahal for a detailed tour during sunrise. After admiring the beauty of Taj during sunrise, come back to hotel for breakfast. Later, you will experience the famous Inlay Work & Zardozi work of Agra. Zardozi embroidery work involves making elaborate designs, using gold and silver threads. Come back to hotel to relax before you start the evening tours. Early evening, go through the Heritage and Village walk. From here, you will be taken to the Food Walk of Agra where you will get to taste the local delicacies from Agra, you will experience the famous street food of Agra from famous food joints. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Agra - Jaipur
After breakfast, you will be driven to Jaipur (5-6 hours’ drive) enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. Enjoy lunch at one of the countryside restaurants on the way to Jaipur. After lunch, continue driving to Jaipur and you have the option of visiting Abhneri stepwell. Upon arriving in Jaipur, you will be checking in at your hotel of stay. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Jaipur
After breakfast, enjoy full day tour of Jaipur. Visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) from outside which is the landmark of Jaipur. Onwards, you will be driven to Amber Fort. Experience the thrill of riding up to the fort on gaily decorated elephants, in the manner the Rajputs of old made their royal ascent centuries ago. In this tour, you will have an opportunity to visit the private residential & ceremonial areas of the City Palace with a special permission. Continue rest of the tour and visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory. The tour ends with wandering through the colourful bazaars, a veritable collector’s paradise where you can watch ancient craft forms. Come back to the hotel to wash and change. Later this evening, you will be visiting Rajasthani family to learn few delicacies from Rajasthan region. It would be combination of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes.
Day 8: Jaipur – Pushkar
After breakfast, drive onto Pushkar (3.5 hours) en-route visiting beautiful village of Bagru. Here you get to visit over 5-7 local places, with each one of them having their own expertise in one or the other skills set like making natural colours, carving designs on the wooden blocks, printing the blocks on cloth, boiling the cloth after printing process. You will also visit a local school of Bagru which is run by locals from Bagru itself. Continue your journey to Pushkar. Upon arriving in Pushkar, check-in at your hotel of stay. The tour ends at one of the ghats from where you can witness the Aarti. (It is not as grand as the Haridwar or Varanasi).
Day 9: Pushkar – Udaipur
After breakfast at hotel drive onto Udaipur (6-hours drive) enroute visit Eklingi and Nagda Temples. Undoubtedly the most romantic city in Rajasthan, and perhaps the world, Udaipur is situated 200 miles southwest of Jaipur. The city is built around Lake Pichola and has inevitably been dubbed the ‘Venice of the East’. Upon arriving in Udaipur, check-in at your hotel of stay.
Day 10: Udaipur
After breakfast, enjoy tour of Udaipur. Start the tour with a walk into the old city of Udaipur which ends with visiting the Jagdish Temple, built in 1651 and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Afterwards, visit the impressive City Palace. Later visit Saheliyon Ki Bari which is one the most beautiful gardens and a major tourist destination in Udaipur. Afterwards, you will be enjoying the boat ride at Lake Pichola. A visit to Udaipur is incomplete without a boat cruise in Lake Pichola the historic 14th century lake made by a localbanjara (gypsy) that was extended in the 16th century by Rana Udai Singh II to establish Udaipur. In the evening, you are transferred to Devra, a colonial-style house. Devra is home to your host Ms Jyoti Jasol along with her husband, both of whom come from the prestigious and educated families of Rajasthan who will give you a cookery demonstration of Rajasthani cuisine. Watch and help her cook and then you are invited to enjoy what you have helped prepare as dinner.
Day 11: Udaipur – Delhi
After breakfast, the morning is at leisure to relax in this most romantic city in India until you are transferred to airport to connect afternoon flight to Delhi. You will be assisted in check-in at the hotel in Delhi. In the evening, you will be driven to fine dining restaurant for your farewell dinner.
Day 12: Depart Delhi
Transfer to International airport for your connecting flight back home.
