You will be cruising on The Airstream Project. This vessel is hand-built a remarkable 9.2-meter classic style lake cruiser - the shape, form and finish draw it’s inspiration from classic 1960’s Airstream trailers, Second World War aircraft and Italian speed boats!
Join them for a 3-hour cruise, soak and geothermal experience, during which their skippers will delight you with some of their favourite places on the lake. Take off your shoes and step off the boat onto a secluded hot water beach. Explore up a hot water stream under the cover of native geothermal wetland bush, while cheeky Piwakawaka flitter overhead.
The choice is yours on arrival to the hot pools where there are 8 pools on the shore fed from the spring, they are all different temperatures to allow for everyone’s bathing preference. If you need to cool off there is the beach to walk into the fresh waters of the lake or take the fast route - down the slide at the end of the jetty!
A short but steep walkway leads up to a viewpoint above the pools for those who would like to take in the stunning panorama of Lake Rotoiti. You can grab a snack, ice cream or beer from the café on site before boarding the vessel and heading back across the lake warm and relaxed.
