Kizomba (The African Tango):
Kizomba is a popular social dance (which originated from Africa) and is very popular now around the World, recently Australia and New Zealand.
This style is perfect for anyone who wants to enter the world of dance due to its softness and easy basic steps, allowing any novice to gradually evolve to more complex steps, and more importantly allowing a beginner to enjoy the pleasure of social dancing much earlier than any other type of dance in pairs.
Casino (Cuban Salsa):
This social style has was created in Cuba – a dance for 2 or more partners, with the leader calling out different steps and movements. When there are more than 2 partners, the dance will be done in a circle shape or Rueda. This dance style is great to create a social environment among the dancers or the people who are watching. It is also lots of fun.
The course will cover basic steps of how to starts dancing Casino, incorporating more complex turns and body movements as the course progresses covering Cuban styling tips for both men and ladies.
About NelsonSon Afro & Latino Dance:
Your teacher's name is Pablo and he's got over 10 years experience teaching Latin dance in Chile, New Zealand, and Australia. In Australia, he was running classes for 2 years in Melbourne (including a performance team) and participated in a few Latin Dance festivals. After holding workshops in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wanaka (Nov 2017) and Invercargill (Jun/Jul 2018), with an amazing participation of more than 100 students, he's sure that this will be the start of something good with Nelsonians.
The last 2 years in Australia they been practising and studying a few different types of dance that they would like to share with the local dance community - Son, Cha cha cha, Mambo, Bachata, Merengue, Afrocuban, Reggeaton, Cumbia and others.
