Scottish born John Jameson set off to Dublin in the 1770's to start a whiskey distillery and in doing so took the great Irish tradition and put his stamp on it, in the process becoming more Irish than the Irish themselves.‘Sine Metu' meaning without fear, is the Jameson family motto, awarded for their bravery in battling pirates on the high seas back in the 1500s. This motto was the inspiration for John's move to Dublin to make his mark (and his history). The rest as they say is history!Jameson Irish Whiskey… has mellow aromas with hints of toasted wood and sherry undertones. The taste is round and smooth, with sweet, spicy wood and biscuit tones and the finish is dry and incredibly smooth. A blend of triple distilled whiskeys unlike Scotch whiskeys which are only distilled twice. It is aged in bourbon and Spanish oloroso oak casks for a period between 5 and 7 years well beyond the minimum legal maturation period of 3 years.40% alcolhol/volume
